2What is pastoring?
- Showing care and taking some level of
responsibility for the spiritual development of
another person.
31 Corinthians 1225-26
- 25 so that there may be no division in the body,
but that the members may have the same care for
one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all
the members suffer with it if one member is
honored, all the members rejoice with it.
4What is the range of pastoral care?
- Ranges from showing general concern for a person
all the way through in depth training and
oversight of a persons development into a fully
functioning Christian.
5Includes things such as
- Shows concern by
- visiting, calling, praying for, attending
supporting special family events (i.e. weddings,
funerals, graduations, etc.) - Gives support by encouraging through
- giving spiritual advice, emotional encouragement,
friendship, and attending social events together
6- Provide growth through
- the study and application of scripture, training
in life skills - accountability for weakness and sin
- referring to counselors who have expertise in
areas of need - meeting together on regular schedule.

to for care and spiritual direction

pastor?
- Has a level of spiritual maturity
- They care about you
- Can provide spiritual guidance commensurate with
your growth needs - You trust
- Is willing to agree to agree with you about your
pastoral needs
