• METRICS
• 1- Head Injury
  Patients with GCS lt14 receive
  a CT scan within 2 hours of arrival. Of 194
  trauma patients monitored 12 did not receive head
  CT within 2 hours. However, chart review
  revealed that appropriate care was rendered in
  each case -- 8 died in ED, 2 went directly to OR,
  1 transferred out, 1 too unstable.
• 2- Potential Blunt Abdominal Trauma
  Diagnostic Peritoneal Lavage by the physician or
  an abdominal ultrasound by the radiologist for
  hemodynamically unstable patients without
  abdominal distension or patients with probable
  hollow viscus injury.
• 3- Potential Penetrating Abdominal Trauma
  laparotomy within 2.5 hours of arrival
