Their Beginning

• Adam
• Made in the divine image.
• Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image,
  according to Our likeness Gen. 126.

• Christ
• Is the form and very essence of God.
• who being the brightness of His glory and the
  express image of His person Heb 13.

Their Objective

• Adam
• Thought it a prize to be grasped (to be as
  God).
• "For God knows that in the day you eat from it
  your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
  God, knowing good and evil." Gen.. 35.

• Christ
• Though it not a prize to be grasped.
• did not regard equality with God a thing to be
  grasped, Phil 26

Their Reputation

• Adam
• Aspired to a reputation.
• "and that the tree was desirable to make one
  wise, she took from its fruit and ate and she
  gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
  Gen. 36.

• Christ
• Made himself of no reputation.
• But made himself of no reputation, and took upon
  him the form of a servant, and was made in the

• Adam
• Seeking to be like God.

• Christ
• Coming in the likeness of men.
• but made Himself of no reputation, taking the
  form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness

Their Appearance

• Adam
• And being created a man (of dust, now doomed).
• ...For dust you are, And to dust you shall
  return. (Gen.. 319)

• Christ
• And being found in appearance as a man.
• God did by sending His own Son in the likeness
  of sinful flesh, on account of sin He condemned
  sin in the flesh (Rom. 83).

• Adam
• He exalted himself,
• So when the woman saw that the tree was good for
  food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a
  tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its
