Conditions to Amend Constitution By-Laws
  • Article VIII Amendments to the By-Laws
  • This Constitution and Bylaws of the FAMU-FSU NSBE
    Chapter may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote
    of all financial members present at a business or
    general meeting.
  • This means you have to be dues paying chapter
    member present at this meeting.

Article III Membership, Section 1 Eligibility
  • The membership in this chapter shall be those
    students enrolled at Florida AM University,
    Florida State University, and Tallahassee
    Community College pursuing a degree in any of the
    accredited majors and/or academic disciplines and
    the aforementioned institutions.
  • At least two thirds of the FAMU-FSU Chapter will
    consist of engineering majors.
  • Membership and participation shall be free from
    discrimination on the basis of sex, race,
    religion, ethnic group, age, national origin, or
    country of abode.

Article III Membership, Section 1 Regular
Members
  • Regular members shall include all persons who
    meet financial requirements with the Local
    Chapter, Region, and the National Society. Those
    who do not meet the financial requirements should
    notify the Treasurer to make special
    arrangements.

Article IV Administration, Section 12 Academic
Excellence
  • Be familiar with Regional and National awards and
    scholarships pertaining to PCI and relay them to
    the Chapter members.
  • Implement National Academic Excellence Programs
    in accordance with the Regional and Chapter Long
    Range Plan.

Article V Nomination and Election, Section 2
Nominations
  • Only financial members are eligible to nominate
    candidates and vote. Unless special arrangements
    have been made with the Treasurer prior to
    nominations.
  • Nominated parties should have been a paid, active
    member of the FAMU-FSU Chapter or another Chapter
    of the Society (including a PCI Chapter) for at
    least one semester prior to accepting the
    nomination.
  • See Nominations in the By-Laws section for more
    information regarding nominations.

Article V Nomination and Election, Section 3
Voting
  • Voting shall be by secret ballot, and the
    plurality (meaning the majority of all the total
    votes cast) of all votes cast by financial
    members shall be necessary for election.

Article V Nomination and Election, Section 4
Tenure
  • Officers shall serve a term of one year. The
    elected officers will begin their tenure on April
    1st and complete their term on March 31st of the
    following year.
  • Officers shall be a paid chapter and national
    member by the beginning of the Fall Regional
    Conference of their current term.

By-Laws, Section 3 Chapter Fees
  • Regular members shall submit one resume to the
    FAMU-FSU Chapter and pay the set Chapter fees of
    10.00, effective April 1st, 2010. No university
    student may be denied membership due to inability
    to pay dues. In this case other arrangements
    will be made with the Treasurer.

By-Laws, Section 4 Nominations
  • All parties interested in receiving a nomination
    should are required to attend a Fall or Spring
    Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) that year, if
    one is held, unless prior accommodations are
    made.
  • For the position of President and Vice-President,
    all parties interested in receiving a nomination
    will be required to have a history of attending
    at least one Regional Leadership Conference, Fall
    Regional Conference, or National Convention.
