What does JORUM mean?

• JISC Online Repository for Learning and Teaching
  Materials
• Noun 1. A large drinking bowl. 2. The amount
  that such a bowl contains
• Currently research project, started October 2002
• Paving the way for service to all FE and HE
  institutions from August 2005
• EU Procurement process for repository software
  now completed and contract awarded to Intrallect

JISCs Exchange for Learning Programme

• X4L is exploring the re-use and re-purposing of
  existing content, not just from JISC, but also
  other sources such as NLN, and NGfL
• 22 LT content-producing projects from FE and HE

Likes

• Ease of use (once you are familiar)
• General design of the interface
• Presentation of the search results
• Presentation of the preview, including public url
  option
• Simplicity of export functions
• Current administration tool structure

Dislikes

• Interface is not intuitive doesnt steer you
  through the process of publishing e.g. save
  metadata button and its location, classification
  as a separate link to selection of node, etc.
• Metadata template configuration only possible by
  administrator and visible to all users should
  be able to create their own templates
• Lack of standard reports available with the
  exception of the basic log file
• Recent Public URL export functions are
  confusing
• Delay in browse tree loading loading, please
  wait message? Does browse tree need to appear
  on login?
• Edit taxonomy options should not be visible to
  librarian and guest users
• Incompatibility of virtual objects (e.g. with
  Reload)

USER Ive worked out that was the publish
button, and it tells me whats missing but where
do I go to solve it?

and in what order to select them. Do I have to
use them?

save it? There is a save button but its in a
different place, what does that save?
