  • Not all children have the same opportunity to
grow roots or to develop wings.
  • Thats why a number of charities exist to act as
    a safety net.

10
  • Some children are in situations where they have
    a difficult start in life.

11
  • Some children need protecting from harm

12
  • Over the last few years the NSPCC has been
    running a campaign called
  • Full Stop
  • Their aim is to end cruelty to children

13
  • Sometimes children cannot be brought up by their
birth parents. The charity NCH helps children
find new families who will care for and love
    them.
  • NCH also supports young carers whose parents
    have health problems or disabilities.

14
  • Unfortunately some childrens lives are cut
short, because they are seriously ill.
  • The Starlight Childrens Foundation aims to make
their brief lives happier by granting their
wishes for example meeting their favourite
celebrity, going to Disneyland, or giving them
    something theyve always wanted.

15
  • Barnardos helps families cope with poverty and
    homelessness.
  • They help parents develop their parenting
skills, and steer children away from anti-social
    behaviour.

16

Can you think of any circumstances when children
or their families might need help?
17
  • Barnardos say that it is never too late or too
early to offer a helping hand

18
Go-Givers believe that all children have special
talents, and that they all deserve the
opportunity to achieve their wishes and goals!
Hurrah!
