• School improvement and renewal are inseparable
  issues from neighbourhood improvement and
  renewal, particularly in the most disadvantaged
  areas. While schools are profoundly affected by
  their neighbourhoods, they equally have a key
  role in promoting cohesion and building social
  capital.
