TRYOUT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

• Reference FISD Dance/Drill Team Constitution Art
• Must not have been academically ineligible for
  more than two, six-weeks grading periods during
  the application year based on first, four
  six-weeks.
• Must not have failed more than one class during
  any grading period.
• Tryouts may be video recorded if student is
  unavailable to try out during the specified time
  because of a school sponsored or UIL sponsored
  event.

• Reference FISD Dance/Drill Team Constitution
• Must have no more than three days of ISS and no
  OSS or Alternative School assignments during the
  current school year.
• Must not have missed more than 10 of school days
  in any course (without making up those hours).
• Must be cleared through both the attendance and
  administrators offices before eligible to
  tryout.

AUDITION WORKSHOP

• WHEN August 22, 2009
• WHERE HHS Dance Studio
• TIMES 10 am 5 pm
• WHAT TO WEAR
• Dance Attire or workout wear and dance shoes
• Hair tied back at all times (ponytail)
• NO shorts, crop tops, spaghetti straps or jewelry

• No video taping.
• Learn Field routine and kick combination.
• Technique for splits.

• When August 22, 2009
• Where Heritage HS Main Gym
• Times 5 pm 630 pm
• Ending time is approximate
• ONLY tryout candidates are allowed in the
  building BEFORE, DURING and AFTER tryouts

ATTIRE FOR AUDITION

• What to Wear
• Solid black leotard or fitted top fully covers
  torso
• Long black dance pants
• Black dance shoes
• Hair in a neat ponytail
• No jewelry, fingernail polish, hair accessories,
  or body/hair glitter.
• Make-up to emphasize facial features
• Audition number pinned to chest (given day of
  auditions)

AUDITION PROCESS

• August 22, 2009 is the ONLY day to audition for
  2009-2010 HHS team.
• 3 qualified judges.
• Hopefuls are required to attend entire audition
  time.
• Closed to public.
• Hopefuls will be placed in groups of 3-5 to
  perform in front of judges.

SELECTION PROCESS

• No set number of dance members selected.
• Average of 3 judges scores.
• 100 possible points.
• Hopefuls who score an average of 70 and above
  will be selected for next years team.

Announcement of 2009-2010 Heritage HS
Dance/Drill Team Members

• Results will be posted approximately two hours
  after the final group auditions.
• Mrs. Cooper will not address results.
• Judges decision will be final.
• Viewing score sheets with Heritage Principal Mark
  Mimms by appointment. Parents may view only
  their dancers score sheet and score sheet may
  not be removed from administrators office.

NEW TEAM MEETING

• Once the team is finalized, a meeting will be
  scheduled for all team members and parents at the
  close of line camp.
