Terminology LexicalizedWhen discussing ASL
fingerspelling, the term Lexicalized refers to
fingerspelling that has mutated to take on
characteristics of an actual sign. It looks and
moves more like a sign than normal
fingerspelling. Also, quite often, certain
letters are left out.
