Inserting and hyperlinking a photoplay button in
email
  • NOTE Some web-based email providers, like Gmail,
    Yahoo and HotMail do not allow you to insert an
    image into the body of your email. If you use a
    service like that for sending email you will only
    be able to use the blue GoldMail message link for
    your recipients to click on.

  • If your logo is more square in shape or tall and
    thin, work with button (A). Otherwise work with
    button (B). Click and drag a box around the
    button you DONT want to use and delete it (hold
    down ltCTRLgt and press ltXgt)
  • Click on the picture inside the remaining button
    to highlight it and delete the picture. Do the
    same for the Your Logo image.
  • Click on INSERT and choose PICTURE and navigate
    to the photo on your PC you want to use and
    double click on it.
  • Click and hold on a corner of the photo and drag
    it to the size you want. Click and hold in the
    center of the photo to drag it into position
    inside the button.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 to insert your companys
    logo.
  • With your photo and logo in position. Click and
    drag a box around the WHOLE button to highlight
    all the elements.
  • Right click on it and choose SAVE AS PICTURE
  • Name the file and save it to a folder on your PC
  • You now have a button you can insert into your
    emails and hyperlink to a GoldMail message
  • See next slide for instructions on inserting
    images into your email and how to hyperlink them
    to your GoldMail messages.

Hyperlinking the Image to your Message
  • PLEASE READ These instructions are for Microsoft
    Outlook 2007. Steps for your version of Outlook
    or a different email program will vary. This will
    not work in web-based email providers that dont
    allow images to be inserted into the body of the
    message (e.g. Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail).
  • It begins from you having opened a new Outlook
    email by clicking
    from the SHARE step of GoldMail.
  • Position your mouse where you want the photo /
    play button to appear
  • Choose INSERT from the menu at the top of the
    screen
  • Then choose PICTURE and a window will open
    displaying files on your computer
  • Navigate to the photo / play button image you
    just created and saved and double click on the
    file name the image will appear in the body of
    the email
  • Click and drag the lower right corner of the
    image to make it the size you want
  • Copy (or Cut) the blue GoldMail message link, so
    its on your computers clipboard
  • Right click on the image you inserted and choose
    HYPERLINK
  • In the ADDRESS field, paste in the GoldMail
    message link and press OK
  • Now roll your mouse over the image you should
    see a tool tip display showing the GoldMail
    message link you pasted into the Address field
    this indicates the button is now hyperlinked
  • To test it, hold down the CTRL key and click on
    the image a new browser window should open and
    your message should play
  • Always include the following text underneath the
    image in case the recipients email filters strip
    out the image or remove the hyperlink. Theyll
    still be able to view your message Cant see the
    picture above? Click this link or paste it into
    your browser copy GoldMail URL here and make
    sure it is blue and underlined, meaning its a
    clickable live link
