About
SOS is a new group out to make a difference. The
group's goal is to form an adopt-a-station
program at many train stations throughout
Melbourne. The aim is to get the community
involved and better the building and the
commuters of the station. So much are railway
stations in Melbourne looked at as bad places
where crime and violence is abundant. SOS wants
to make railway stations a hallmark, something
special as a product of the community a place
where not only trains come and go, but where
people can feel safe and happy by just looking at
it, these stations could become a symbol of
community spirit and a product of it. SOS is out
to make a difference.

Projects
SOS wants to launch it's first project at Hoppers
Crossing Transport Interchange, here SOS will
propose to construct an urban-art wall out of
second-hand bricks where local graffiti artists
can showcase their work, instead of vandalizing
everywhere. Also included in the proposal is to
put better seating facilities in and amenities.
All money will be raised by SOS, and if agreed
the local council. After this if it is a success,
SOS will continue to manage what the group has
done at Hoppers Crossing and then move onto
another station, if there is enough demand or
need for a project like this to be taken
out. Hopefully, through community help SOS can
transform ugly crime-zones into beautiful
achievements of the community SOS is out to
make a difference.

How you can help
If you can make a donation to SOS in any way, or
give your support, help or services, the group
would be greatly thankful. All contributors will
have their name's on the SOS honour roll (if
chosen.) SOS in this current time will be
grateful for any contribution that can be given
to the group. SOS is out to make a difference.

Membership
Membership is free and open to everyone and
anyone. To join SOS, you don't have to make a
contribution but if you can the group would be
thankful. Members will receive an e-mail
newsletter each month or when major news arises.
To join SOS please email By turning up at
working bees a freelance membership will be
issued/ For each membership, either freelance or
proper applicants must give a small amount of
personal information. Names will be registered
on the SOS database. There are different types of
membership, the lowest being freelance and the
highest being Board member, board members receive
plastic cards and special SOS I.D's. Normal
members also receive an I.D. SOS is out to
make a difference.
