  mean? ( 2 minutes)
• Compare your idea with the person next to you.
  Try to agree a description (4 minutes)
• Now form a group of 4 and write a definition you
  can all agree with (4 minutes).
• How does your idea fit with the scientific idea?
  Watch and listen.

What is energy?

• Energy is an idea that scientists invented to
  help us track the changes that happen in nature.
• Changes happen because of differences, for
  example differences in temperature or
  concentration.
• When anything changes energy is involved.

What are the big ideas about energy?

• When anything happens (or changes) energy is
  transferred from one place to another.
• The amount of energy we end up with is the same
  as we started with (its just in a different
  place and more spread out).
• Energy does not get used up.

• We can imagine energy to be like money or bricks.
