Title: The Call Of Christ Part 4

1
The Call Of Christ (Part 4) The Course Of
Gods Call
Matthew 418-22 1 Samuel 31-15
2
Many think the cause of Gods calling them, or
their salvation, is so they might go to
heaven. God could allow you into heaven without
ever calling you or without you trusting in
Him. He could have taken you as a child and you
would have went automatically. Some think they
are so worthwhile that God wants them so badly He
calls them. Others say, Im just a simple
person with no great talent. God is looking for
someone to use today and that is the reason He
calls. He saves us to put us back in the place
man was originally IN FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM. When
we are in fellowship with Him than we can do
great things through His power.
3
  • I believe there are 3 steps in the progression or
    course of His call
  • BE OBEDIENT TO AUTHORITY (vs.1)
  • The world was in such spiritual degradation that
God wasnt making Himself know to many.
  • Samuel was obedient to Elis authority.
  • Eli was the man of God for that synagogue
    (church).
  • If a person is not obedient to authority they
    probably will not be saved.

4
  • BE SAVED WHEN GOD CALLS
  • God initiates the call not man (Jn.644
    Rom.311).
  • God calls first man doesnt seek God (vs.4-6).
  • Gods calling doesnt mean you are saved (vs.7).
  • Its Gods plan to have soul winners or
    witnesses.
  • God chooses to have people lead other people
    (vs.8-9).
  • Once the way has been shown the person still
needs to make the decision to follow God on their
    own (vs.10).

5
  • BE WILLING TO DO GODS WILL NO MATTER WHAT
  • Notice the message he must deliver (vs.11-14).
  • Not all work for the Lord is charming.
  • Not all work for the Lord is desirable (vs.15).
  • Samuel didnt look forward to telling Eli the
    vision.
  • Sometimes we must be willing to do things we
    dont like to do.
  • God blesses our willingness.
