2 The history of Christmas goes back over 4,000
years ago. Many Christmas traditions were
celebrated 100s of years before Jesus was
born. Like the 12 days of Christmas, the bright
fires, the Yule log, giving gifts, parades, the
big meals, and singing songs is how its
celebrated.
3But the church took these old celebrations and
made Christmas. The exact day of Jesuss birth
had never been known. In 137 A.D. the bishop of
Rome decided that Christmas was going to be
celebrated on December 25.
4In winter is the time where Christmas is
celebrated around the Northern Hemisphere. 100s
of years before Jesus was born, early Europeans
celebrated light and birth in the darkest days of
winter. Many people were happy during the winter
times. When the bad times of the winter was
behind them and they could look forward to longer
days and more hours of sunlight.
5, Customs of Christmas is, giving presents ,
ginger bread , the green Christmas tree, the
ornaments and angels , the snow men, the lights
, the happy feelings ,and last but not least
the big meals.
6The symbols of Christmas are,

stocking
snowman
wreath
present
Angel
gingerbread
