2006 POPCORN SALETIMELINE AND IMPORTANT DATES
  • August 2006 Popcorn Kickoffs
  • Aug. 21 Show-n-Sell orders due into Council
    Service Centers.
  • No Returns - Payment due Sept 28th
  • Sept. 9 Show-n-Sell Popcorn Pick up
  • Sept 10-24 Show-n-Sell
  • Sept. 12 Unit Popcorn Kernel Training training
    is designed for Unit Popcorn Kernels who could
    not attend the District Popcorn Kickoff.
  • Sept. 15 Unit budgets and IYOS are due to
    council for additional profit.
  • By Sept. 25 Unit Popcorn Kernel conducts unit
    kick-off to explain the program to boys and
    adults, set unit goal, plan unit sales
    activities, and distribute sales materials to
    boys.
  • Sept. 25-Oct 24 Units begin the Take Order
    process. (Optional Units may collect money with
    order.)
  • By Oct. 24 Units turn in the Blazer, McDonalds,
    Unit Master Record and Prize Order forms by
    fax, mail or drop off at Council Service Center.
    (Optional Units may turn in money with
    popcorn order to the Council office.) No orders
    will be accepted after the deadline!
  • Nov. 11 Units pick up their popcorn from the
    District Distribution Center and hold a special
    meeting of boys and parents to distribute the
    popcorn. If they have not already done so, they
    collect payment from the customer at the time of
    delivery.
  • Nov 30 Units turn in money to Council Service
    Centers.
  • Nov 30 Deadline for Prize orders, and submission
    of 1500 prize and scholarship information.

What Is Needed From Your Unit Now
  • The commitment form from your Unit stating who
    the kernel will be your unit. An email address
    and contact phone number.
  • Whether your unit will choose Prize or Cash
    option. If you are uncertain you have till August
    30th to email or contact via phone Your District
    Kernel or Council Official with your units
    option.
  • All Unit Kernels should be registered in your
    unit. You have till Sept 10 to have them
    registered.
  • Commitment forms must be filled out and left here
    tonight.

BIG CHANGES FOR 2006
  • Penalties
  • 5 initial reduction if Show-N-Sell not received
    by September 28, 2006, an additional
  • 1 reduction each additional week
  • . 5 initial reduction if Take Order not received
    by November 30, 2006, an additional 1 reduction
    each additional week.

Still More CHANGES FOR 2006
  • 1000 Sellers Club now Fill it Up Patch
  • Use your Fill it Up Patch form to be entered in
    a drawing for a new bicycle to be given away
    within your district. There is no limit on how
    many forms you can turn in. The more forms you
    fill up the better your chances are!
  • Increases on Blazer participation
  • In order to receive a free Blazer ticket each
    Scout will need to sell 1000 of popcorn and in
    addition will receive a free Blazers T-Shirt.
  • McDonalds Coupon Books
  • For 250 in sells each Scout will receive a
    coupon book from McDonalds
  • Prizes
  • If your unit chose the prize option you can now
    order your prizes at www.trails-end.com. Orders
    can also be turned in to the Council Service
    Center for processing.

  • Last Frontier Council will keep the 5 for prizes
    and no cost to your unit
  • Last Frontier Council will pay for Unit Popcorn

How Do We Determine Our Budget?
  • Well if your unit for example has 20 Scouts
  • Registration 10.80
  • Boys Life 12.00
  • Awards 15.00
  • Pinewood Derby 10.00
  • Blue Gold 5.00
  • Day Camp 45.00
  • Dues for 1 year 30.00
  • Total per boy is 127.80 times 20
    boys 2556.00
  • So if your unit gets 25 commission you must sell
    10,224.00 of popcorn or 511.20 per boy to make
    your units budget
  • Or if your unit gets 30 commission you must sell
    8,520.00 of popcorn or 426.00 per boy to make
    your units budget
  • Or if your unit gets 35 commission you must sell
    7,302.86 of popcorn or 365.14 per boy to make
    your units budget

Show-N-Sell
  • Show-N-Sell Orders are Due August 21st
  • These need to be done online. 2 of Profit
  • If you do not have internet access Please
    discuss this with your Unit Committee or District
    Kernel for other options
  • Show-N-Sell Pick Ups are Saturday September 9th
    in the morning at the Oklahoma City Food Bank or
    other designated location
  • Those that would like their Popcorn earlier, may
    come Friday the 8th from 9 am-Noon to help sort
    popcorn by Districts and Units. You will leave
    Friday with your units Show-N-Sell order

  • It is suggested that you order only 10 more SNS
    Popcorn than you did last year.
  • What you dont sell you CANNOT RETURN!
  • You need to use this popcorn to fill our orders
    in November.
  • If you still have popcorn left in November after
    you have made your deliveries. Please contact
    your District Kernel ASAP! Popcorn can be
    transferred to a unit but may not be returned to
    the council office

Why times 3
  • There are 3 order forms per boy enclosed
  • 1 for MOM
  • 1 for DAD
  • 1 for Blue Star Mothers
  • All forms can be reproduced if needed

Blue Star Mothers
  • Blue Star Mothers are mothers of Service men of
    all branches of service. They are sending care
    packages to Servicemen overseas.
  • If you are selling popcorn and someone is not
    interested in buying popcorn for themselves you
    may suggest that they buy for a Serviceman. All
    items must be paid for at the time of the order
    and must be turned in on one separate order form.
  • The products will be shipped before Christmas or
    right after based on what item was purchased.
  • You must also get the buyers name and complete
    address as it will go on the item that was
    purchased when it is shipped to a Serviceman.
  • ALL FURTHER QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS PROGAM MUST
    BE REFFERED TO Council office email, phone or in
    person.

Filler Up Program From Trails-End
  • There are 25 lines on each order form.
  • When you fill an order form, copy the order form.
  • You keep the original order form and then send
    the filled order form to trails-end.
  • The boy will receive an patch and a
    certificate from Trails-End for free for filling
    up the order form.

  • Each Scout that fills up an order form will be
    entered into a drawing for a bicycle
  • EACH DISTRICT WILL HAVE 1 BIKE TO GIVE AWAY
  • So the chances of winning are even greater

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies
  • 2 tickets to a Blazers Hockey Game for each of
    the top 3 salesman, plus the 1 Seller will get

  • If popcorn is Damaged
  • If someone ordered and refused the item
  • NO OTHER POPCORN WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!

Money Master Order Record
  • ALL MONEY IS DUE Nov 30th or before!
  • Before means no long wait as you cannot drop off
    popcorn money, it has to be processed and entered
    into the computer.
  • Forms should be turned thru email or can be taken
    to the Council office on or Before Nov 30th.
  • Forms are found on Unit CD.
  • Scholarship Recipients New and previous, there
    is a form that is to be submitted to the Council
    office by or before Nov 30.
