system. The impulse response of the transmitting
and receiving antenna were simulated from CST.

- The antenna has greater impact in UWB than in
narrowband systems as the large bandwidth of an
UWB signal causes substantial changes in both
radiation pattern and the input impedance. - Reciprocity can be used to produce the receiving
transfer function if the transmitting transfer
function is known or vice verse. - The performance evaluation of UWB system must
include the antenna effect.
