Creating Gobi folders

What can folders do?
  • In GOBI, you can use folders to store titles for
    consideration at a later time.
  • You can add titles from any search result screen.
    There is no limit to the number of titles you
    can store in a folder, and folders remain active
    as long as your user ID and password are active.
  • Folders can be personal or shared
  • Personal Only the person who creates a folder
    designated personal can view the contents, add
    titles, and remove titles from the folder. This
    is recommended for all consultants, unless you
    share responsibilities for a discipline area.
  • Shared Anyone can create a folder and designate
    that it be shared. Then, any user in the library
    can view the contents, add titles, and remove
    titles from a shared folder, only the owner can
    rename or delete a shared folder. This is
    recommended for our folders used in the ordering
    workflow process between consultants and
    acquisitions. Acquisitions is responsible for
    setting up these shared folders.

Setting up a folder
  • Step 1)
  • Click on Manage Folders

  • Step 2)
  • Click on New

  • Step 3)
  • Fill out screen
  • name your folder
  • check off Show in Menu so you can view on the
    GOBI home screen
  • select Personal or Shared. We do recommend
    that you make these folders Personal unless you
    share responsibilities with others

  • Click on Save to save new folder

Editing folders
  • Step 1)
  • In Manage folders, click on radio button of
    folder you want to edit, then click on Edit

  • Step 2)
  • If this is a folder you did not create, you will
    only be able to click on Show in menu Step 1)
    In Manage folders, click on radio button of
    folder you want to edit, then click on Edit

Step 3) Click on Save to save changes

Adding titles to folders
  • Step 1)
  • When you find a title you want to save to a
    folder, click on the box, and then click on Add
    to folder

  • Step 2)
  • Choose desired folder in the pop-up box, and then
    click OK. You can also create a new folder on
    the fly

  • Step 3)
  • Once the title has been added, an icon will
    appear in the action column

  • If you want to move titles between folders, you
    open the folder and click on the check off the
    title you want to move, then click on Move to
    folder
