Assessment Design
  • Based on the Basic Competency (BC) descriptors
    (Tryout Version) for English Language at the end
    of Key Stage 1 (Primary 3) and the CDC Syllabus
    for English Language (Primary 1-6) 1997
  • Balanced coverage of the learning targets in the
    three strands (i.e. Interpersonal, Knowledge and
    Experience Strands) and the 4 language skills
    (i.e. listening, reading, writing and speaking)
  • Task-based
  • providing opportunities for pupils to activate
    their knowledge, skills and strategies in the
    purposeful and meaningful use of English
  • A revised CDC primary English Language
    syllabus, English Language Curriculum Guide
    (Primary 1-6), will be published in August 2004
    and implemented at P1 in the 2005-06 school
    year.
