2THE GREAT DRAGON WAS CAST DOWNRev. 129

serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan,
the deceiver of the whole world he was cast down
to the earth, and his angels were cast down with
him. - The point being made The triumph of Christ over
Satan! - Rev. 1714, These shall war against the Lamb,
and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord
of lords, and King of kings and they also shall
overcome that are with him, called and chosen
and faithful.
3 THIS TRIUMPH OF CHRIST WAS REALIZED IN HIS FIRST
COMING, NOT IN HIS SECOND (STILL FUTURE)!
- Mat. 1228, Cast out demons -- But if I by the
Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the
kingdom of God come upon you. - Luke 1018,19, Saw Satan fall from heaven -- And
he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as
lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given
you authority to tread upon serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy
and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.
4 Jn. 1231-33, Prince of this world cast out
--Now is the judgment of this world now shall
the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I,
if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all
men unto myself. 33 But this he said,
signifying by what manner of death he should die.
- Jn. 1633, I have overcome the world -- These
things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may
have peace. In the world ye have tribulation but
be of good cheer I have overcome the world. (
present accomplish-ment)
5 THE CROSS WAS VICTORY, NOT DEFEAT!
- Eph. 214-16, Abolished the enmity -- For he is
our peace, who made both one, and brake down the
middle wall of partition, 15 having abolished
in the flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinan-ces that he
might create in himself of the two one new man,
so making peace 16 and might reconcile them
both in one body unto God through the cross,
having slain the en-mity thereby.
6 Col. 214,15, Triumphing over them -- having
blotted out the bond written in ordinances that
was against us, which was contrary to us and he
hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the
cross 15 having despoiled the principal-ities
and the powers, he made a show of them openly,
triumphing over them in it.
- Heb. 214,15, Bring to nought the devil -- Since
then the children are sharers in flesh and blood,
he also himself in like manner partook of the
same that through death he might bring to nought
him that had the power of death, that is, the
devil 15 and might deliver all them who
through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage.
7 THE GOSPEL BINDS, TIES, SATAN
- Rev. 201-3, And I saw an angel coming down out
of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a
great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on
the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil
and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3
and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and
sealed it over him, that he should deceive the
nations no more, until the thousand years should
be finished after this he must be loosed for a
little time.
8 2 Cor. 214-16, God leads in triumph -- But
thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in
triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us
the savor of his knowledge in every place. 15
For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in
them that are saved, and in them that perish 16
to the one a savor from death unto death to the
other a savor from life unto life.
- Rev. 1210 Rom. 833,34, The accuser is
si-lenced -- And I heard a great voice in heaven,
saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power,
and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of
his Christ for the accuser of our..
9brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before
our God day and night Who shall lay anything to
the charge of God's elect? It is God that
justifieth 34 who is he that condemneth? It is
Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was
raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of
God, who also maketh intercession for us.
- 1 Jn. 38, The gospel destroys Satans works --
he that doeth sin is of the devil for the devil
sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the
Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the
works of the devil.
10 THE DRAGON PERSECUTES THE CHURCH
- Rev. 1212-17, Great wrath, little time -- Woe
for the earth and for the sea because the de-vil
is gone down unto you, having great wrath,
knowing that he hath but a short time. 13 And
when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the
earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth
the man child. - 14 And there were given to the woman the two
wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into
the wilderness unto her place, where she is
nourished for a time, and times, and half a time,
from the face of the serpent
11(God protects the church)
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after
the woman water as a river, that he might cause
her to be carried away by the stream. (Satan
uses rivers of lies to deceive the church) 16
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth
opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which
the dragon cast out of his mouth. (The earth,
the worldly, swallow up these lies)
1217 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman,
and went away to make war with the rest of her
seed (individual Christians), that keep the
commandments of God, and hold the testimony of
Jesus.
13 Acts 1422, Many tribulations -- (Paul and
Barnabas) confirming the souls of the dis-ciples,
exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that
through many tribulations we must enter into the
kingdom of God.
- 1 Pet. 58,9, A lion seeking to devour -- Be
sober, be watchful your adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he
may devour, 9 whom withstand stedfast in your
faith, knowing that the same sufferings are
accomplished in your brethren who are in the
world.
14 WE REIGN WITH CHRIST
- 2 Tim. 212, Now -- if we endure, we shall also
reign with him if we shall deny him, he also
will deny us 13 if we are faithless, he
abideth faithful for he cannot deny himself. - (e.g., If we pay our debts, we will have a
clean conscience. When will we have a clean
conscience? When we pay our debts!) - We reign with Christ when we conquer sin!
- 1 Jn. 213, I write unto you, young men,
because ye have overcome the evil one.
15 Rev. chap. 2 and 3, seven times, in the 7
letters to the churches of Asia To him that
overcometh. -- 27, 11, 17, 26, 35, 12, 21.
- All of Gods promises are to overcoming persons!
- Nothing is promised to anyone else!
- 1. Christ cast Satan out when he died on the
cross for the sins of man. - 2. This he did in his first coming!
- 3. The cross is victory, not defeat.
- 4. The gospel binds Satan as respects the
Christian. 1 Pet. 59, whom withstand .
16stedfast in your faith.
- Jas. 47, Be subject therefore unto God but
resist the devil, and he will flee from you. - 5. To be a Christian means persecution! John
1518-21, If the world hateth you, ye know that
it hath hated me before it hated you. 19 If
ye were of the world, the world would love its
own but because ye are not of the world, but I
chose you out of the world, therefore the world
hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said
unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord.
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute
you if they kept my word, they will keep yours
also. 21 But
17all these things will they do unto you for my
name's sake, because they know not him that sent
me.
- 6. Christians reign with Christ now in this life
because the Christ is King now! - Jn. 1837,38, Pilate therefore said unto him,
Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest
that I am a king ( Thats right!) . To this end
have I been born, and to this end am I come into
the world, that I should bear wit-ness unto the
truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my
voice.
18 1 Tim. 615, which in its own times he shall
show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings, and Lord of lords. What here is
said of God the Father, in Rev-elation is said of
Christ (1714 1916).
- CONCLUSION
- Satan has been cast down! Hes a loser.
- So, become a Christian ( belong to Christ) and
be faithful, for Jesus says that the prince of
this world has nothing in me -- Jn. 1430. - Only in Christ is there eternal victory!
- Obey the gospel today and start the life of
victory with Jesus.
