Aims

• Aim
• To encourage more young people in Barnsley to
  consider Further Higher Education as an option
  for them in the future
• To inspire, promote and encourage young people in
  science as a study option and possible future
  career path
• To enhance and support current year 10 GCSE
  curriculum
• In Barnsley we are working to
• Help young people and their parents/carers to
  have the confidence to know that they go to
  university
• Encourage them to achieve the qualifications they
  need to progress
• Promote the different ways in which young people
  can access Higher Education
• Support young people and their parents/carers in
  making decisions and planning for the future

• Outcomes
• 1. to participate and experience workshops held
  in the FE Science teaching laboratories
• 2. to meet and work with science lecturers from a
  range of Universities in the Yorkshire and
  Humberside area
• 3. to meet current FE students and be able to
  chat about student life and learning
• 4. to encounter and raise awareness of a wide
  range of careers where the study of science is a
  requirement
• to meet pupils and staff from other schools with
  an interest in science with potential for further
  network and shared learning opportunities
• to take own learning back to school to share with
  class
• to enhance and support Science curriculum in
  schools
• 8. to explore, enrich understanding, raise
  awareness and broaden concept of science.

• Learning things I wouldnt learn at school,
  enjoyed meeting new people

  venue and presenters enthused the pupils
• They realise the wonder of science, many of
  our pupils realise they can
