5- Aims of the Project
- To better understand the processes for PB to be
used effectively to further Every Child Matters
through allowing children to make decisions over
real resources. - Objectives
- Engage children in project development,
working together in groups, and demonstrate
budgeting and decision making skills. - Develop local acceptance and ownership of the
process and a willingness to trust children
with real school budgets. - Test the effectiveness of PB in delivering
benefits in comparison to other methods.

7Next Steps
- Evaluate the programs internally and work
with the PB Unit to create a simple case study. - Reflect with members of the community and the
schools involved and get ideas for repeating or
extending the work. - Hopefully it will take fewer resources to
repeat the process. - Continue to share the learning and outcomes
with the Councils Neighbourhood
Services. - That community leadership was key to a PB
project so it was inappropriate to try and guess
what the longer term will look like at this time.
