Working Together

  • Aims of the Project
  • To better understand the processes for PB to be
used effectively to further Every Child Matters
through allowing children to make decisions over
    real resources.
  • Objectives
  • Engage children in project development,
working together in groups, and demonstrate
    budgeting and decision making skills.
  • Develop local acceptance and ownership of the
process and a willingness to trust children
    with real school budgets.
  • Test the effectiveness of PB in delivering
benefits in comparison to other methods.

Next Steps
  • Evaluate the programs internally and work
with the PB Unit to create a simple case study.
  • Reflect with members of the community and the
schools involved and get ideas for repeating or
    extending the work.
  • Hopefully it will take fewer resources to
    repeat the process.
  • Continue to share the learning and outcomes
    with the Councils Neighbourhood
    Services.
  • That community leadership was key to a PB
project so it was inappropriate to try and guess
what the longer term will look like at this time.
