3INTRODUCTION
A distinguishing characteristic of the effective
leaders according to a review of literature by
Warren Bennis is that they are perpetual learners
who are secure in learning about their working
environment. An effective leader recognizes the
importance of assessing and evaluating their
abilities and skills. Resourceful educational
leaders use a variety of methods to assess, such
as feedback from a mentor, formative evaluation,
their own growth plan, etc., to gain insight in
their own leadership qualities.

These leaders then use this information to
further improve and grow. Many leaders who
promote and use honest feedback consider this
feedback as the breakfast of champions.
