Implementation

• Combine all slices into 3D
• Change view to x-direction
• Cut the 3D along with x-axis
• Get the range of y
• Change view to y-direction
• Cut the 3D along with y-axis
• Get the range of x

Implementation details.

• Choice of Seed
• For the first slice, I use Osiris to show the
  bone image and find the seed pixel inside the
  bone structure
• (270, 340)
• For the other slices, the seed is produced by the
  previous slice automatically
• every 20 slices, I decrease the value of y
  by 10

Implementation cont.

• Choice of threshold homogeneity criteria
• The minimum is 20 and the maximum is 300
• Every single value stays in the same region with
  its neighbor if the absolute difference with the
  average value of its neighbors is less than 50
• The number of neighbors gt 7
• Stay in the range of X and Y (80, 60)
