5Rules for Note Taking
Read and become familiar with your research
questions. Underline key words.
Read the article or source material one sentence
at a time.
Stop at the end of each sentence and decide if
there are any treasure words.
Record the treasure words in the appropriate
place on your data collection form.

Research the homes of the Powhatan Indians.
