• it is estimated that more than 95 are cause by
  human failures, 75 of all accidents definitely
  due to human failure.

• intelligent vehicles, intelligent infrastructure

• 50 reduction of fatalities between 1970 and
  1987 in Germany due to safer cars (todays cars
  are 4 safer due to ABS, ESP, better impact
  structure, etc.) while traffic increased by 72.
