6Conversation
Dick Clark I recall the first dance that I
attended. It was in the spring of 1934. Myself
Wow. That was a long time ago. What was the
hottest dance back then? Ed Koch It was probably
swing dancing. We didnt do much of that when I
was in office. Myself Every political movie Ive
seen has politicians doing swing dances at their
fundraising events Ed Koch Hollywood is so
dramatic! Dick Clark At least it is the
cinematography of Hollywood that creates the
drama, and not the realism of the political lime
light. How many times has your life been
disrupted due to scandal? Or political drama?
HA! Myself Dick, you sound a little offended. Ed
Koch Yeah Dick. Youre not really part of
Hollywood. Youre more of a Broadway dance type
of guy. Dick Clark Hollywood has done great
things for many actors. Some of them have even
had lucrative careers in the political sector.
Sometimes it takes an actor to play an actor in
government.
