What is a Public Health Internship?

• A public health internship is a
  student-centered, practical experience, within
  the students area of specialization, supervised
  by a Department faculty member but which occurs
  in a health-related agency or organization under
  the guidance of an experienced preceptor or
  mentor.

What is the Value of the Internship?

• Reality test knowledge and skills
• Develop increased levels of confidence
• Increase and refine knowledge and skills
• Provide community service
• Confirm choice of profession
• Source of letters of recommendation
• Source of potential employment opportunities

What are the Eligibility Requirements?

• Minimum 2.0 g.p.a. for required public health
  core-courses
• Senior status and completion of at least 90
  credits
• Completed all 400-level public health courses
• Completed any outstanding I grades in public
  health courses
• Attended internship orientation
