What is a Job Aid?

• It is a repository for information,processes, or
  perspectives
• Supports work and activity
• Directs,guides,and enlightens performance.
• Job Aids are simply cheat sheets

When to use Job Aids

• When Performance is infrequent.
• When the situation is complex.
• When the consequences for error are high.
• Where there is high turnover or task simplicity.
• When there are not significant resources to
  support training

• Tools are instrument used in performance of an
  operation. They are also devices that facilitate
  work.
• Examples Hammer,Hairdyers,Flat irons, make up

Types of Job Aids

• 1) Informational - supplies information.
• E.g Yellow pages Amazon. com 2)
  Procedural - outlines steps to perform tasks.
  E.g information on Scanning Images,
  exercise tapes
• 3) Decision Making Coaching - Supplies
  information to help make a decision or get
  through a situation. E.g scoring template
  Mr.Ali provides with every business case,
  choosing a GM vehicle

• WebCT provides information on grades, homework,
  and so on.
• Provides online and printed steps and guidelines
  on how to use different software. Examples
  Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and so on.
• BISM 3200 gives us the opportunity to create job
  aids through flowcharts
