Participation
- Overall, participating schools increased by 17
from 2006 - NWSP 2007 has successfully attracted two thirds
(2/3) of the total number of schools in Singapore.
14Intensity of School Participation
- Increase in participation at Primary/Secondary
School divisions (due to integration of NWSP by
teachers into school subjects curriculum?). - Drop in participation at JC division attributed
to more focus on quality than quantity.

- Schedule 4-20 April 2007 _at_ Respective Schools
- Score Sheets Preliminary Assessment Judges will
use assess each team based on the approved
judging criteria - Classification of project teams
- Nominated Finalists group. The team projects in
this group are the best among the set of projects
evaluated. The quality of the projects are of an
excellent standard. Every (49) nominated
finalists will receive a cash prize. - Non-nominated Finalists group. The team projects
in this group displayed good to satisfactory
performance but do not qualify for the final
assessment.
272. Judging Criteria Final Assessment - Guidelines
- Finalist Written Reports Wednesday 9 May 2007
- to be forwarded in advance to the Final
Assessment Judging Panel. - Schedule and Venue Tuesday 15 May 2007,
Singapore Power Auditorium - To be conducted in three divisions Primary and
Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges - 15-20 minutes for each finalist team
presentation. - 10 minutes of QA per finalist team by the
judging panel.

- Cash award will be handed over after the prize
presentation ceremony in a single lump sump
cheque to the winning school. - When cash award is 1,000 or more, the school and
the winning team is recommended to co-share

- Choose a topic that is relevant to weather
change. Identify the project categories. - Collect data
- Data from mini-weather station, exchange data
with other schools, attempt NEA meteorological
services and search international websites - Write to agencies and companies for interview
information - Survey, involves as many as possible school
mates, parents, industry professionals - Conduct simple experiments
- Video, pictures, drawing, exhibit
- Be focus

automatically. Do not exceed 2Mb otherwise report
may not be receivable by assessment judges. More
detailed report can be given to the judges on the

40Preparation for preliminary assessment in April
2007
- Take note of the date and time of judges visit.
Judges will drop in at school admin office
regardless the project is ON or OFF. - Prepare 5 sets of hardcopy final reports
(complete with appendices, drawings, pictures,
etc) for the three judges, one moderator and one
coordinator. - Give to the NWSP Coordinator, a CD containing the
final report, ppt presentation and team
photograph. - Presentation is very important. It will decide
whether your team is the best team of the day.
Nominated finalist will receive cash price and
will be eligible for the selection of final
competition. - Coordinator will insist taking a group photo of
the team, together with the judges and the
teacher-mentor(s).

- Study of weather data in dengue clusters
- Schools are encouraged to be pilot schools to
send weather data to EHI. - Study the correlation between climate and dengue
fever in Singapore. - Study the effect of climate change has on dengue
incidences and mosquito breeding in Singapore. - Weather data temperature, atmospheric pressure,
rainfall, relative humidity, wind speed, wind
direction, solar intensity. - Development of a Central Data Depository
prototype can greatly facilitate the Dengue Fever
Cluster study.
