Habitat
  • Hippopotamus is mostly found in rivers, lakes,
    swamps, and wallows of Africa.
  • They live in permanent still water and not to
    much rocks at the bottom of the water.
  • The water most not be extremely deep but deep
    enough for its huge body and needs nearby reed
    beds and grasslands.
  • Hippopotamus live in both water and ground so it
    is an amphibious.

  • What kind of biome?
  • There are two different types of hippos, there is
    the common or river hippopotamus and the pygmy
    hippopotamus.
  • The common hippo lives in grassland where still
    water is remained still for the year.
  • The other hippo lives in the forest in western
    Africa.
  • Describe the biome
  • For the grassland biome the land is covered by
    grasses and only a few trees grows. The land is
    flat and very good for growing crops.

Predators/Enemies
  • A grown hippo does not have many enemies. But in
    the other hand the calves does. Calves are in
    danger from lions, hyenas, and crocodiles. The
    adult hippopotamus is usually too much for most
    predators to handle. The one that actually is the
    hippos enemy is humans. Usually for their meat
    and powerful horns.
