How Do I Apply?

• Fill in a UCAS form - your Tutor can tell you the
  correct codes to use
• send it to Lis McCormick at Napier by end of
  April
• make sure you reply to EVERY communication from
  UCAS
• make sure Napier receives proof that you have
  successfully passed your DUT

Will I definitely be accepted?

• Demand exceeds supply!
• We need to make sure we do not have all French
  students BUT-
• if you successfully pass your DUT and you get a
  minimum mark of 10.5 and your Tutor gives you a
  good reference, we will accept you onto the
  Programme

What About Accommodation?

• If you reply quickly to all UCAS communications,
  and have received an unconditional offer by early
  August, you will be eligible for accommodation in
  student residences.
• You must take responsibility for dealing directly
  with Napiers Accommodation Department

• You may prefer to arrange a private rented flat
  in Edinburgh - this will give you a good idea of
  how people live in Edinburgh
• Whichever you decide, you should try to make sure
  that you do not share with only French people -
  you will not improve your English so much if you
  do that!

What Will I Study?

• Our Programme is very flexible - YOU choose from
  a big list of modules during our Introduction
  Week.
• Staff are on hand to help you make a good choice,
  and to register your choice.
• Classes start the following week
• You will study eight modules over the year 4
  modules per semester.
• A semester lasts for 15 weeks

• If you want to graduate at the end of the year,
  you must choose 6 of the 8 modules from 3rd year
  subjects, and you can have the remaining 2
  modules as 2nd year subjects (slightly easier!!)
• Most modules have one written assignment during
  the semester, and an examination at the end of
  the semester.
• Because English is not your first language, you
  can take a dictionary into the exam.

How much will it cost me?

• When you arrive in Edinburgh, we will help you to
  complete a form. This will mean you should get
  your tuition fees paid for you.
• You will not get any allowance for living
  expenses
• you are entitled to work, if you are an EU
  citizen, but we dont recommend that you do any
  more than 15 hours per week.
• You may find living costs are higher in Edinburgh
  than in France - see the leaflet on typical costs
