Marvelette Profile

• My name is Marvelette Lasha Lilly (Dykes.) I was
  born in Many Louisiana on July 15, 1988. My
  mother s name is Gennifer Lewis Lilly and my
  fathers name is Jackie Dykes. I have two
  brothers, TravuantaDemon, and DAngelo, one
  sister, Jacqueline, and a God sister, Phylisha .
  I lived in Seattle Washington from the age of one
  until the age thirteen. Then I moved back to
  Louisiana and I attend Pleasant Hill High school
  where, I will be graduating from in 2007.
• I attend Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church where I
  sing unto the Lord. I plan on going to an online
  college or a technical college. I have a few
  choices on what I would like to major in they
  are business communication, counseling, or
  office assistant.
• I love being around people. I have been through a
  lot in life, and I am still learning from my
  mistakes, and learning to take the past and turn
  it into something positive. I cant wait to
  graduate so I can be a successful black
  independent women. I would like to have two kids
  and adopt one.
• My motto of life is Life is what you make it, I
  wont be the first to fall, so dont look down on
  me, do what you do, cuz Im gonna do what I do. I
  feel my motto along with God will help me make it
  through life and keep me smiling.
• The most important thing in my life is Jesus
  Christ because he allows me so many blessing and
  gives me life.

Writing Samples

• I choose my writing samples To My Dear and
  Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet, Cherokees,
  and Jonathan Edwards from English III Open
  House from Desktop Publishing, and Roaring
  Twenties from American History. These writing
  samples reflect my personality, such as being
  humble, educated, and sensitive. These particular
  writing samples stood out the most to me because
  of the hard work I had put into them, and the
  grades I earned.
• In American History I had a chance to express my
  opinion about the Roaring Twenties, and what
  situations were popular at that time.
• In Desktop Publishing I had to write an article
  for our school website about the school new dress
  code rules, the new teachers we had been blessed
  with, and our school goal for year 2005-2006.
• In English III I had to compare a poem by Anne
  Bradstreet To My Dear and Loving Husband to a
  song by Mariah Carey called If You Only Knew.
  The poem and the song were similar and that they
  both deal with sorrow. This sorrow would touch
  anyones heart.
• The Cherokees was another essay that I enjoyed
  writing. I found that their beliefs were similar
  to mine.
• All of these writings show a reflection of me
  because they all were very interesting topics
  that I enjoyed writing about.
