Our work

• Victim Support has two primary objectives
• to provide support and assistance to individual
  victims, witnesses, their families and friends
• to raise public awareness and recognition of the
  effects of crime and promote victim's rights.

• Across the strategy there is a recognition to
  support victims and witnesses of crime

Linking into the CD structure

• From the outset tried to link into each level of
  the strategy
• As a city wide organisation, linking into the
  entire structure proved difficult.
• Started at what was thought the right level
  SDPs
• This also proved difficult.

LAP level VS Outreach Workers

• Increased awareness and networking
• It provides us with opportunities to link
  directly with community groups and agencies
  across Manchester at the local practitioner level
• Provides us with direct self referrals
• Re-enforces our community ties
• Enables us to provide information about our
  services to local groups.

• Provides us with links at both delivery level and
  development of strategy level across a wider
  geographical area (Sub-divisional)

• Influence strategy for the sub-division
• Ensures both the victim and witness have a voice
  at this level
