Title: Example 2 Using 2 Meteorological Data Sets
1Example 2Using 2 Meteorological Data Sets
- Run a single isobaric trajectory with NAM
forecast data and GFS global forecast data
2Run a trajectory with NAMF40 forecast data from
the Workshop archive again.
3Choose Source Location
Enter the starting location of 46N and 68W
4Allow the model to use the GFS if the trajectory
runs off the NAM grid.
Vertical motion method Isobaric
Total run time 84 hours
Starting height 2500 m AGL
Vertical plot height units Pressure
5Submit the job and view the results
6The second column indicates the meteorological
grid used. In this case the model transitioned
to the GFS at 8 UTC on 12/20/2005.
The trajectory particle moved to the E-NE using
the NAM40 data until running off the grid around
49N, then continued NE using the GFS data.

The trajectory endpoints file is an ASCII text
file containing useful information about the
trajectory and can be used in other display
applications such as GIS.
The MESSAGE file contains runtime diagnostics
that can also be used to determine when the
meteorological data was changed during the
calculation.
