Traditions/Purpose of the Uniform
  • Uniforms date back as early as the Roman Empire
  • They were used for religious purposes since dawn
    of recorded history
  • Modern uniforms worn by military, police,
    security guards, schools, and prisoners
  • The purpose of uniforms is to clearly
    distinguish combatants who are protected by the
    laws of war from persons carrying weapons, who
    enjoy no such protection. They make it difficult
    for deserters to avoid detection in the military.
    Military uniforms are so distinctive, they could
    not be modified into unrecognizable clothing.

  • School uniforms reduce cliques or gangs
  • Allow students to focus on just schoolwork rather
    than socializing
  • The professionalism boosts school morale
  • People serious about the job wouldnt mind
