    when making an address book with MS Access.

  • A query searches out or locates data in a
    database.

PURPOSE OF A QUERY
  • The purpose of a query is to question or search
    for data in a database.
  • It is a way to search for information in a
    database.
  • Ex run a search for a zip code in a particular
    database.

WILDCARDS
  • A wildcard takes the place of a letter or number.
  • A wildcard looks like an asterisk ().

  • Ex numerical query - 3 when placed in the
    postal code field, will look for postal codes
    that start with 3
  • Ex character query - K when placed in the city
    field, will look for cities that start with K

  • A report outputs data to the screen or printer.

  • The purpose of a report is to give an output of
    results from a table in a database.
  • Ex print out address labels to a printer of an
    address book that you made in MS Access
