• 2.1 Motion is Relative
• Everything moves. Objects that appear to be at
  rest are really moving.

• A frame of reference is a background that we use
  to describe motion. (The earth is the most
  common frame of reference.)

• 2.2 Speed
• a measure of how fast an object is moving
• It is measured in terms of a distance divided by
  a time Units m/s , miles/hr , km/hr

• Average Speed
• A car does not always move at the same speed.
• Sometimes you speed up or slow down.
• The average speed tells you how fast you went
  over the entire trip.
• Average speed total distance time interval

• Instantaneous Speed
• The instantaneous speed is the speed of an object
  at one instant in time.
• It is difficult to keep your speed constant in an
  automobile. Therefore, your instantaneous speed
  is always changing.
• You get your instantaneous speed when you look at
  the speedometer.

• Velocity is speed in a specific direction.
• Constant velocity requires that your speed and
  direction stays the same.
• Constant speed and constant velocity are not the
  same thing. Pg 14.

• Acceleration is the rate at which your velocity
  changes.
• 3 ways to accelerate. 1. Speed up 2.
  Slow down 3. Change direction

• Falling objects do not appear to accelerate at
  the same rate because of air resistance.
• If there wasnt any air resistance all things
  would fall at 10 m/s/s
