2WEATHERING
- Weathering is the process of breaking down rocks
into small pieces that become sand or soil. - The agents of weathering are wind, air,
temperature, water, ice, and plants.
Over a long period of time the rock turned dark
black. The native Americans scratched off some
of the color to make a picture.
The rock has been cracked from water and growing
plants.
3Erosion
- Erosion is the process of
- Rocks being moved from
- there original location.
- The agents of erosion are gravity, water, and ice.
The rushing water has worn away the rock making
space for the water to flow.
Water
Here wind has carried the soil to other locations
.A crater has been left behind.
Gravity
4Deposition
Deposition is the process of sediments being laid
down in layers after being deposited by water.
Sedimentary rocks are formed when sediments are
compacted and cemented causing a rock to form.
The different colors on this rock are layers of
sediments.
This landform is called a delta.
