    onsite support and lifelong learning

  • Building London Creating Futures has brought
    together employers, training providers, local
    authorities, regeneration partners and the
    voluntary sector to address a range of
    recruitment and employment issues in construction
  • A key part to the Building London Creating
    Futures programme is the construction Workplace
    coordinator project which is currently being
    rolled out across central London

Construction Workplace Coordinator a link to
employers
  • Construction Workplace Coordinators (WPC) are
    sector skilled professionals who are employed by
    key developers and contractors. These post
    holders are paid for by Building London Creating
    Futures
  • Their role is to engage with employers to help
    contractors and sub contractors meet their
    employment and training requirements
  • Broker employment opportunities and training for
    new and existing workers
  • Most importantly is that the WPCs are hosted,
    line managed and employed by the employer

  • 1. Employers extremely important to delivery of
    the programme
  • 2. Willingness to work with the partnership in
    supporting residents into employment
    opportunities on the construction sites
  • 3. Willingness to work in a different ways I.e.
    social programmes such as EQUAL and have
    demonstrated commitment to CSR
  • 4. Provide support and legitimacy to project
    activities and have been supportive in terms of
    mainstreaming
