Valentine's Day
3
  • Every February, across the
country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged
between loved ones, all in the name of St.
    Valentine.

4

Valentine's Day is a special day of
love! It is day to celebrate
friendship and love. It is a time to
give little gifts to special people. Make
homemade Valentine cards for your family and
friends. Share a story and a smile with
someone you like.

Foolish day
7
  • The Origin of April Fool's DayThe origin of
April Fool's Day remains clouded in obscurity.
Basically no one knows exactly where, when, or
why the celebration began. What we do know is
that references to 'All Fool's Day' (what April
Fool's Day was first called) began to appear in
Europe during the late Middle Ages.

8
  • All Fool's Day was a folk celebration
and elite participation in it appears to have
been minimal (which is why it's so difficult to
trace the exact origin of the day, because the
people celebrating it back then weren't the kind
of people who kept records of what they did).

9
  • Thanksgiving Day

10
  • Thanksgiving Day is the most truly
American of the national Holidays in the United
States and is most closely connected with the
    earliest history of the country.

11
  • The pattern of the
    Thanksgiving celebration has never changed
through the years. The big family dinner is
planned months ahead. On the dinner table, people
will find apples, oranges, chestnuts, walnuts and
    grapes.

12
  • There will be plum pudding, mince pie, other
varieties of food and cranberry juice and squash.
The best and most attractive among them are roast
turkey and pumpkin pie. They have been the most
traditional and favorite food on Thanksgiving Day
    throughout the years.

13
Halloween
14
  •

Halloween is an annual celebration, but
just what is it actually a celebration of? And
how did this peculiar custom originate? Is it, as
some claim, a kind of demon worship? Or is it
just a harmless vestige of some ancient pagan
ritual?
15
  • So, although some Celts may have adopted
Halloween as their favorite "holiday," the day
itself did not grow out of evil practices. It
grew out of the rituals of Celts celebrating a
new year, and out of Medieval prayer rituals of
Europeans. And today, even many churches have
Halloween parties or pumpkin carving events for
    the kids.

Christmas is the feast of the nativity
of Jesus, is on 25th, December every year. But
nobody know the actual birthday of Jesus.
  •

18
  • The name Christmas is short for
"Christ's Mass". A Mass is a kind of Church
service. Christmas is a religious festival. It is
the day we celebrate as the birthday of Jesus.

19
  •

And the Christmas has become popular when
Christmas cards appeared in 1846 and the concept
of a jolly Santa Claus was first made popular in
nineteenth Century.
