Welcome to all of you!

• A pleasure to be here, with you,
  to work on very important enterprise wide
  subjects
• A few words on my background
• and a few, to launch the discussion, on our
  challenges ahead

Challenges ahead

• The standardization bodies are numerous a
  global view is necessary.In my opinion, this is
  maybe THE role of TC184 to define approaches or
  interfaces bringing clarity in a complex
  technical environment and providing stability
  over time for the decision makers of a company.
• The consistency between a global view (TC184) and
  a product view (IEC TC 65) is needed ISO TC184
  and IEC TC 65 must work together better and more
  competition will hurt both and dilute the
  achievements of both entities
• A tremendous amount of standards has been
  defined, specifically by SC4 a cycle is
  completed. What is next?

What could be next ?

• Can we consider that the issues faced by
  companies are now resolved with the new set of
  standards achieved ?Is standard maintenance the
  only future to be considered?
• No way!
• Just think about
• new regulations implying more and additional
  exchanges of (new) data
• need to keep data for traceability or
  environmental aspects for longer and longer
  period of time
• Increasing speed challenges for reconfiguring
  enterprises
• The wide vision of TC184 is a major competitive
  advantage and a responsibility let us together
  define the next standards frontier we need to
  address. The choice will not be easy.
