  • A conductor of the Sydney symphony Orchestra in
    1947, proposed that a new concert hall and Opera
    Theater be built for Sydney on Bennolong Point.
    The Committee confirmed the site of Bennolong
    Point and recommended a competition for the
    design of the building.

    of the competition.

  • Jern Utzon was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on 9
    April 1918. He qualified as an architect in 1942
    and worked with some significant European
    architects till establishing the private practice
    in 1950.
  • 1957 he won the competition for the design of the
    Sydney Opera House his most famous work. His
    other work includes the Kuwait National Assembly
    (1972) and the Bagsvaerd church comples(1975).

    Katoomba tribe.

    tribal law forbade them to marry.
