3Vocabulary Bulletin Board
- To strengthen students academic vocabulary,
each week a new word is displayed on the bulletin
board outside of the office. - Each week a different teacher chooses a word for
his/her class to exhibit. The word is depicted
through creative expressions such as writing,
drawing, photographs etc. - The words are reinforced during morning
announcements and teachers encourage students to
visit the bulletin board throughout the week. - Teachers incorporate the vocabulary word into
daily lessons and activities in order to
emphasize comprehension and understanding. - The staff at Gribbin feels that students who
possess a rich vocabulary develop a stronger
academic base for building both comprehension and
critical thinking skills.

6Change the World
- To foster empathy by understanding that a
charitable deed can change the lives of others - The children were encouraged to donate their
spare change. - The entire school voted on their favorite three
animals to sponsor goat, water buffalo, bees - Fortunately, we raised enough money to support
all of the following - We raised money to purchase a goat
which provides Haitian children with milk and
served as extra income for their families. - A share of a water buffalo to help
Cambodian families increase rice production. - Beehives to enable Armenian families to
earn money through the sale of honey and beeswax.
