We have five senses
  • Sight
  • Hearing
  • Touch
  • Smell
  • Taste

3
Hearing
  • Your ears catch sound waves in the air and takes
them along your ear to the eardrum.
  • Next the sound vibrations move three little bones
    and then the cochlea.
  • Then nerves take the sound waves to the brain.

4
Sight
  • The pupil lets light into our eyes.
  • The coloured part of our eye is called the iris.

5
Touch
  • When you touch something nerve cells take
    messages to your brain.
  • You have nerve cells for touch, heat, cold and
    pressure.

6
Smell
  • Smells come into your nose when you breathe.
  • Nerves carry the smells to your brain.

7
Taste
  • Little taste buds on our tongue taste the food.
  • These taste buds tell if food is sweet, sour
    salty or bitter.
