• The yolk sac on the alevin is food until the
  stage of fry
• The eggs turn white when they die
• The steelhead remember the smell of their river
  of birth
• Out of 2,000 eggs only one spawning pair returns
• The eggs are called eyed eggs when you can see
  the eyes in the eggs
