JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(1) A comprehensive Opportunity Analysis for the
Gems and Jewellery sector on a regional/country
wise basis (2) Market Research product wise and
country / region wise based on secondary
data. (3) A comprehensive, yet specific
Marketing Plan for Gems and Jewellery on a
regional / country wise basis.
The Marketing plan should include the following
along with the other details, the consultant may
find necessary to include
A Comprehensive analysis of the world
demand for Gems and Jewellery (design, specs,
product and geography etc. Competitor
Analysis on a Country / Regional and worldwide
basis. Competitor Analysis on a Product
wise basis. Establish and analyze customer
profiles on a regional/ country wise level and
current/ changing trends and needs including
commercial, financial, social, environmental.
Establish and analyze distribution channels
where applicable related to product sector/
categories. A cohesive SWOT Analysis on a
product and country / region wise level.
Ways to segment the market so that highly
specialized products can be offered to various
groups, and the kind of products which should be
offered to a broad base of users.
2 Specific Marketing strategies both on a
product and a region / country wise basis to help
TDAP achieve its goal of sustainable growth in
the Gems and Jewellery exports. The
budgetary implications of the specific marketing
strategies.
4) Coordinate with other funding agencies
involved in development at all levels and review
available documentations, reports and other
reference material. The consultants should also
review lessons learnt from earlier projects,
where similar interventions were made and
structure the new projects accordingly. 5)
Establish and analyze best practices for
initiatives etc. for business development and
promotion by (a) Private sector (b) by
trade promotion/ government organization. 6)
Recommendations to capitalize on identified
strengths, overcome weaknesses, leverage the
opportunities and avoid the threats for a quantum
leap in the sectors growth. 7)
Identification of critical success factors (CSFs)
and timelines based on (6) above. 8) KPIs-
Key performance indicators (a measurement desk
board) to be used to a) monitor progress of
implication of plans by TDAP / Government of
Pakistan and private sector and b) monitor
achievement of results of plans implemented to
achieve the critical success factors. 9)
Software to manage / implement / monitor the
various initiatives and calculations of the KPIs
and related MIS for guidance at a) implementation
level b) supervision level and top management /
policy making level. Consultant will be expected
to demonstrate software with mock data and train
10 people on use of this software. Software will
be the property of the TDAP but Consultant /
outsourced agency will be responsible to maintain
software for one year after handing over
including any retraining of users where
necessary. 10) Make strategies which set the
initial course towards meeting future needs.
11) Undertake sustainable Branding
Initiatives - making Pakistan a Hallmark for Gems
and Jewellery Exportables. 12) Prepare a
detailed plan for pilot testing of any new
initiatives. 13) Be responsible for the
production and timely delivery of inception,
mid-term, pre-final and final reports and
provide in a timely manner the drafts of the
marketing feasibility study of the Projects.
14) Plan, supervise all field investigations
and studies and ensure strong involvement of
stakeholders in project preparation. 15)
Impart relevant training in the various aspects
of International Marketing and Branding and
advising and developing formal, informal sessions
with manufacturers / exporters. 16) Whilst
the applicants may suggest the shortest time for
compilation of assignment, TDAPs final report
to be delivered in 90 days from start of
assignment.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE (NATIONAL
INTERNATIONAL)
- The potential consultant to be contracted for
this assignment should have - 1) Significant Gems and Jewellery international
knowledge and strong experience in marketing and
product knowledge. - 2) Strong understanding of related supply chain
will be an added advantage. - 3) Track record of having successfully done
similar exercises internationally. Experience of
developing and developed countries, especially
India, China, Bangladesh, Turkey, Sri Lanka, US,
European countries will be an added advantage. - 4) Posses a core team, on regular payroll, of
personnel who will be assigned to this exercise
with relevant skills and competencies. - May outsource any part of the exercise except the
core activities with the permission of the TDAP.
36) Joint venture in doing this assignment between
an International and Pakistani consulting
organization of good standing and
organizational strength will be an added
advantage.
APPLICANTS MAY
- Provide their candidacy with respect to the
desired consultant profile given above and any
other information to establish must suitability
for understanding this very interesting
challenge. - An outline process of executing this
assignment, highlighting the steps to be taken
and likely timing for completion of the
assignment (in terms of the number of days from
the day of issuance of the appointment letter to
delivering the objective of the assignment). - Provide the total and shortest possible time
required to complete the assignment. - The consultants current previous
assignments/projects details. - One Iumpsum charge to undertake the
assignment alongwith the stages at which part
payments would be required. - There will be no other amount payable for any
reasons to do this assignment including
presentation of hard bound 15 copies of the
report plus a Power Point presentation to present
the reports content to any appropriate
stakeholder/s. - The candidates will be required to present a
power point presentation to the TDAP as part of
the selection criteria. - The bidding documents are also available on
