Obedience Demands Sacrifice

• Many people value possessions of this world more
  highly than salvation
• Luke 1818-23
• When one becomes a Christian, desire for wealth
  cannot be priority (1 Tim. 610)
• Material sacrifices necessary for godly striving
• Spiritual striving above job, promotion, hobby
• Ask self first about spiritual effect of
  decisions
• Provisions for spiritual needs of family
• There is a need for spiritual striving today!

Obedience Means Putting Lord Above Earthly
Relationships

• Some refuse to obey the Gospel if causes problems
  with family
• Matthew 1034-37
• Family turmoil is certain if we stand for truth
• Our love for any human may not surpass our love
  for God
• Any friendship which takes us away from Christ is
  one we should end (1 Cor. 1533)
• There is a need for spiritual striving now!

Obedience Requires Putting Away Old Life Of Sin

• Some people fail to obey the Lord due to a love
  for sinful practice
• Ephesians 417-24
• Obedience to Christ does not just require cutting
  back on sin, but ceasing it
• Is any sin more enjoyable than heaven?
• Development of self-control is necessary
• There is a need for spiritual striving in us!

Will You Strive Spiritually Obey Christ Now?

• Will you hear heed the truth of gospel?
• Will you believe that gospel most refuse?
• Will you repent of your sins begin to take a
  new direction following Gods word alone?
• Will you confess Jesus as the divine Christ?
• Will you be baptized into Christ in likeness to
  His death, burial resurrection?
• If so, you must commit to spiritual striving!
