2 WORK
I. The Bible teaches the necessity of work!
God appointed work to man (Gen.215
319) 15. And the LORD God took the man, and put
him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to
keep it. 19. In the sweat of thy face shalt
thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground
for out of it wast thou taken for dust thou art,
and unto dust shalt thou return.

2. And on the seventh day God ended his work
which he had made and he rested on the seventh
day from all his work which he had made.
4 WORK
I. The Bible teaches the necessity of work!
Jesus even worked
(Mk.63) 3. Is not this the carpenter, the son of
Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of
Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here
with us? And they were offended at him.

6 WORK
I. The Bible teaches the necessity of work!
Gods attitude toward work
(2Thess.310) 10. For even when we were with you,
this we commanded you, that if any would not
work, neither should he eat.
7 WORK
II. The Bible teaches we need work in this life!
It brings sweet sleep
(Ecl.512) 12. The sleep of a labouring man is
sweet, whether he eat little or much but the
abundance of the rich will not suffer him to
sleep.
8 WORK
II. The Bible teaches we need work in this life!
It is a cure for idleness
(2Thess.311-12) 11. For we hear that there are
some which walk among you disorderly, working not
at all, but are busybodies. 12. Now them that
are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus
Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat
their own bread.
9 WORK
III. Things a Christian must practice to exert a
good influence on the job
1st Must be honest
(Rom.1217) 17. Recompense to no man evil for
evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all
men.
10 WORK
III. Things a Christian must practice to exert a
good influence on the job
2nd Must be enthusiastic
(Ecl.910) 10. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to
do, do it with thy might for there is no work,
nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the
grave, whither thou goest.
11 WORK
III. Things a Christian must practice to exert a
good influence on the job
(Col.323-24)
23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to
the Lord, and not unto men 24. Knowing that of
the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the
inheritance for ye serve the Lord Christ.
12 WORK
III. Things a Christian must practice to exert a
good influence on the job
3rd Must be happy
(Phil.411) 11. Not that I speak in respect of
want for I have learned, in whatsoever state I
am, therewith to be content.
13 WORK
III. Things a Christian must practice to exert a
good influence on the job
4th Must not be a hypocrite
(Mt.2325) 25. Woe unto you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the
outside of the cup and of the platter, but within
they are full of extortion and excess.
14 WORK
IV. What does your work say about you?
1st It shows your character!
(Mt.514-16) 14. Ye are the light of the world.
A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it
under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it
giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16. Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your
Father which is in heaven.
15 WORK
IV. What does your work say about you?
2nd It shows your love for God!
(1Jn.51-3) 1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is
the Christ is born of God and every one that
loveth him that begat loveth him also that is
begotten of him. 2. By this we know that we
love the children of God, when we love God, and
keep his commandments. 3. For this is the love
of God, that we keep his commandments and his
commandments are not grievous.
16WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION!
(Phil.212)
12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation
