  have be developed as a joint effort between The
  National Agency for Enterprise and Construction,
  Realdania and parties from the industry
• should be used by 1 January 2007
• Requirement regarding 3D building models and IFC
• in construction projects above 400k1 clients
  shall consider to demand building models in IFC
  format from consultants in design competitions
  and detailed design
• in construction projects above 2000k1 clients
  can demand building models in IFC format as
  as-built information
• in construction projects above 5300k1 clients
  shall demand building models in IFC format from
  consultants in design competitions and detailed
  design

BIM/IFC in Finland

• SENAATTI Propertieslandlord on behalf of the
  Finish government for financing, managing and
  operating facilities
• already supported gt10 construction projects using
  BIM and IFC (at several levels)

What should public planning authorities do ?

• Increase support for standardization in
  construction by the public building
  administration

• General support for non-proprietary open
  interfaces in construction (to avoid vendor
  dependence)

• Support the IAI by setting up a task force on
  public planning authorities to specify
  technical requirements and document them in a
  project manual

There is an urgent need for neutral,
non-proprietary data formats and their general
dissemination and application.
