- Created in 2001 to support undergraduates as they
seek knowledge and experience in their academic
fields by studying abroad.
- Competition is open to members and non-members at
Phi Kappa Phi institutions.
- Fifty grants of 1,000 each are awarded annually.

- Eligibility
- Attend a school with an active Phi Kappa Phi
chapter
- Earned a minimum of 30 credit hours but not
exceed 90 credit hours (including AP, credit by
exam, transfer, etc.)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Have 2 semesters remaining in residence at their
home institution after completing their study
abroad experience
- Study abroad experience must begin between May 1,
2008 and June 30, 2009
- Must have been accepted into a study abroad
program

Submission deadline February 18, 2008.
Winners announced by April 18, 2008.
Award money mailed by August 1, 2008.

- Designed to recognize outstanding rising
sophomores studying at Phi Kappa Phi member
institutions.
- Sixty Emerging Scholar Awards valued at 250 each
granted annually.
- The competition is open to students in all fields
of study with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

- Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Must have been enrolled as a full-time student
during the previous academic year

11Literacy Grants
- Grants up to 2500 for chapters or individual
members to champion literacy
- 30,000 given annually
- Literacy is defined broadly and may include
reading, writing, numeracy, computers, new media,
and more
- Proposals may be for new or existing projects
